DTM Funk and Errol

Get to know DTM Funk and Errol

For well over a decade, DTM Funk has stood front and centre in Antwerp and the Belgian music scene. Years before becoming a respected DJ, he was already planting seeds and seeing them flourish in our beloved nocturnal habitat. Combining a strong focus on local talent alongside a worldwide view standing firmly above fleeting hypes or trends, he’s been creating a safer space for auditive discoveries of a different kind. As a Longtime Horst & C12 resident DTM Funk he serves the common denominator between soul, groove and rhythm. Focusing on these three elements instead of being tied to any genres makes for some interesting choices. The San-Kofa Rhythm Record founder pleasantly guided an elated crowd through his eclectic record collection, ranging from percussion-driven groovers to Jazz funk records & undiscovered soul and house gems. Whether it’s an early afternoon festival or closing down a dark club night, the dancefloor will surely be moving. Errol is one of the UK’s most compelling, contemporary musical voices: DJ, broadcaster, music curator and founder of Touching Bass. Underpinning it all is a passion for promoting the eclecticism of Black music as well as the culture and community behind it, with roots firmly anchored in his Caribbean heritage. His DJ sets are known for feeling beautifully loose, searching and soulful; unrestricted by genre and anchored by groove. Over the past few years, the London-born artist has taken this free-wheeling approach across the world – from gracing Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Glastonbury and Horst to multiple tours of Australia, Japan and New Zealand. Along the way, there have also been wheel-ups on King Jammy’s legendary dancehall soundsystem in Kingston, as well as warm-up slots for the likes of Erykah Badu, Tony Allen (RIP), Flying Lotus and Yussef Dayes.
